Deno Hewson is a New Zealand adventurer, climber and explorer who over the past 25 years has amassed an extensive personal history of exploration and achievement in the ‘hard to get to’ places of the planet, ranging from the depths of the oceans to the jungles of South-East Asia and the highs of the Himalaya.
With 20 Himalayan and Andean climbing expeditions completed, including two to Mt. Everest, Deno has multiple ice, rock and alpine first ascents to his credit. In addition to his climbing achievements, Deno is a technical, deep wreck scuba diver, and has been involved in ‘first penetration’ and new-discovery dives on historically significant, deep wrecks.
Deno is a member of the Explorers Club and the American Association of Mountain Guides, and a Fellow of the
Royal Geographical Society. He is based in Hong Kong and is a regular keynote speaker on adventure, exploration and risk management across Asia.
